1966 912 Karmann Coupe. Built 10/27/65. Silver Metallic (96024) with Red interior and houndstooth inserts. Original engine (#742515) with original 5 speed gearbox (#224266). 93,730 miles. This is a high quality restoration on a solid, rust free matching numbers car. Full bare metal, windows out, high quality repaint in 2015. Interior is superb. The seats were rebuilt using a new kit from Auto's International. All the reclining hardware was disassembled and re-chromed. Date coded (8/65) chrome wheels have been refurbished and fitted with new Vredesteins. Mechanically superb and a delight to drive. Just had a thorough mechanical sorting at a cost of around $7,500. Recent work included: Solexes rebuilt, new rear shocks, trans mounts, fuel pump, brake fluid flush, oil and filter, plugs, valve adjustment, etc. All body panels and floors appear original with no sign of rust or accidents. The panel fit is superb. This is an amazing early 912 and feels like real value when comparing it to a 911 of the same vintage. Comes with it Certificate of Authenticity, around $13k in bills (these don't reflect the repaint, interior kit, etc.) jack and spare, etc. Inspections encouraged. All sales AS-IS.
